Installation tips
1. Clay bar: Until now, clay bars have not been necessary for car wraps, but with the dramatic increase in finish clarity, small specs and surface contaminants are increasingly have a chance to show through the vinyl wrap. Although still not necessary for the integrity of the wrap, using a clay bar is highly suggested for added surface clearance and perfection.
2. Cap: The Clear Cap is a protective layer for automotive wraps that keeps them safe from dust, dirt, and scratches during shipping and storage. However, it is extremely important to remove the clear cap when applying the vinyl. The cap does not stretch and applying heat with the clear cap on may damage the finish.
3. Wet Application: Please use a slip solution either by buying a pre-mixed one or creating one yourself. Search the internet for the best product or for how to mix one for yourself. Please look up some videos on how to apply PPF (Paint Proterction Film) before starting if you are not a professional. This vinyl applies the same as other wet apply PPF products from other manufacturers, so you can use the same method.
4. Pre-cutting for kits: This vinyl film is designed to be installed the same as color change vinyl wraps. The Gloss versions are wet apply, so that could be used as such, but not recommended. The Matte version being dry apply makes it behave the same way as color change vinyl wraps and will not slide on the target surface, making it near impossible to use pre-cut template pieces.
